The rules
The points system is simple: every match is played to 24 points, and you keep the points you win. Win a match 16–8 and you take 16 points while your opponents take 8. After every round, everyone is ranked by points, and the next round is built straight from the standings: the top four share one court, the next four the next, and so on.
On each court, number 1 and 3 team up against number 2 and 4. Round 1 is a random draw — from then on, the score decides. Because the standings decide the next round, the field sorts itself: win and you climb into stronger company; lose and you meet players at your own level. Close matches happen on their own, with no manual seeding.
The numbers do not have to add up either: with more players than the courts take, the extras rotate in from the bench — fewest matches played first, with ties going to the player with more points.

Variant
If you want to play with a fixed partner, you set the teams before starting — the app never splits them. Teams are ranked by points after each round, and teams next to each other in the standings meet, two teams per court.
If there are more teams than the courts can take, whole teams bench together — prioritized by fewest matches played. The player count must be even.
